In the Imperial universe, the most likely world to have a beanstalk
would be Terra, if the traffic warranted it. The Solomani are described as
being poor at anti-grav tech (and developing it later?), so that window is
longer. I'd put one in just because it's a neat idea, but there's no
support for that that I've seen (except for a beanstalk adventure that
White Dwarf published some time ago).

Yes, nuclear dampers are still around. No other nuclear weapon specific
countermeasures that I can think of, but shooting them down is as popular
as always. :)

It was established (at least in Striker) that nuclear dampers were
useful for cleaning up radioactive debris (for cleaning up the blast crater
so your troops (those that can't take a hint :) can pass through the area).

Recently alvin plummer has mentioned beanstalks a few time well I'd just
like to put in my two pennyworth about this matter.
I don't think the weight of the beanstalk is going to be a problem, more
how to find a substance that can stand up to the tremendous _tensile_
stress because as I read it a beanstalk is a __long__ (40000km) piece of
string (for want of a better substance) with a thumping great weight at
the far end to keep it stright.

Therefore if this is the case then the tremendous centripetal acceleration
imparted to this object at the end is going to put a tremendous tensile
strain on the whole object trying very hard to pull it up by the roots.

I'll have to check my pseudo beanstalk theory but I think this is the
right sort of outlook.

Correct far as they are ceramic or metalic armor. Anything else will be
penetrated. Including chain mail or ring mail.

Yes I think so, but take in consideration if the player/character is
aiming like in a sniper position. In this case if the shot is a miss
with the increased difficulty, but could hit on a normal task let the
shot hit and roll on the hit location table. That's my best suggestion.

1. Does anyone know anythging about the PBM fom Eclipse Entertainment
advertised in the BR Box?

2. I like the Idea behind the scenerio generator system -- anyone tried it yet?

3. It looks like FF&S design for BR can be stopped before weapon facings and
hit locations are designated -- and that is the most labourious part of FF&S
design.
